Deadly conduct (recklessly placing someone else in danger of imminent bodily injury) is a crime in Texas. If the conviction is for reckless behavior, it is a Class A misdemeanor, which is punishable by a fine up to $4,000 and/or up to one year in jail. If the offender discharged a firearm in the direction of a person, vehicle or building, the deadly conduct charge is a third-degree felony. In Texas, a third-degree felony is punishable by between 2 and 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
