What can I do if my miranda rights were not read to me? Is there a such thing as a miranda rights violation for Police Officers?

I was arrested for robbery.  Were my Miranda Rights violated if the arresting officer didn’t read them to me until after I was in lock up?

Your Miranda Rights may have been violated.  The police are required to read the Miranda Rights to you after an arrest, before they begin to question you.  This means they are allowed to question you before an arrest without reading your rights to you, but they should explain that you have the right to leave at any time.  Once they read the Miranda Rights to you, you may choose to answer their questions or choose not to.  The Miranda Rights are designed to make a person’s rights clear under the Fifth Amendment not to incriminate themselves.  However, if you chose to speak the police after knowing your rights, you may have waived your right to remain silent.  You should speak to an attorney to clarify when your Miranda Rights were read and what action was taken before and afterward to determine if your rights were violated.
