Prostitution

Prostitution is defined as exchanging sexual activity in exchange for payment, usually money, but sometimes for other goods such as drugs. Both men and women can be prostitutes. Prostitution is legal in certain counties of the state of Nevada, but illegal everywhere else in the United States. Prostitution is legal in both the Netherlands and Germany. Sweden, Norway, and Iceland do not consider it against the law to be a prostitute, but do consider it illegal for someone to pay for sex. There are several types of prostitution. Street prostitution, where prostitutes solicit customers by walking the streets and brothels, which are homes/buildings dedicated to prostitution, are both common, as are call girls. Massage parlors and escort services in the USA and barber shops in Asia often conceal prostitution. Escort prostitution normally takes place at a hotel room booked by the call girl, or even at the home of his or her customer. In Russia, one prostitute will direct customers to a “tochka” where other prostitutes are displayed, illuminated by car headlights. Any action takes place in the customer’s car. “Lot Lizards” are prostitutes who work anywhere a large number of 18 wheeler trucks are parked, such as a truck stop.
