Probation

Probation is a sentence that is bestowed upon criminals by the court. It is not unusual to receive probation instead of jail time, especially for a misdemeanor , and even for some felonies. While on probation, the criminal must do exactly as the court has decreed, and a probation officer will supervise the actions of the criminal. There are to be no firearms in or around the home, a curfew is set for the criminal, and he or she must live at their usual home place, and cannot leave the area. A criminal on probation may be required to get a job, and may also have to wear an electronic tag on his or her person so the authorities know where he/she is at any time.
