Kidnappings

When a person is kidnapped, this means that they have been removed against their will by the use of force, a threat, or some sort of fraud. A kidnapped person is being held in false imprisonment illegally by whoever kidnapped them. Famous kidnappings include the two-year old son of aviator Charles Lindbergh, Charles Lindbergh Jr. in 1932, Patty Hearst, granddaughter of William Randolph Hearst in 1974, and the grandson of the richest man in the world at that time, John Paul Getty III in 1973. There are times when kidnappings are faked. Suspected kidnappings in history, such as that of Jimmy Hoffa, have never been proven to be actual kidnappings. In today’s world, it seems that children are being involved in kidnappings more than adults are. Since the year 1988, the increase in the number of children that have come up missing is an astounding 500%.
