Gun Possession Violation

Gun possession violation, also known as firearm violation, is a legal offense in the United States. The National Firearms Act provides for specific crimes under the act and for their sentencing. The States and local jurisdictions also have their own firearms regulations. In fact, there is an estimated 20,000 different gun laws across the nation. All address different aspects of possessing a firearm. These include unlawful discharge, selling drugs while carrying a weapon, using a weapon to commit a crime, possession of a stolen weapon, having an illegal or altered firearm, concealing the firearm and having a gun while prohibited to do so. The results for committing any of these gun possession violations are a minimum of jail time and a fine. Fines may range from $100 to $10,000. Jail time can range from a year to 10 years. The terms and length of sentencing vary within the context of the crime.
