Evidence

Evidence is any type of proof or accepted material presented legally by the various parties and through such things as the documents, exhibits, records, and other concrete objects or material for the express purpose of persuading the jury and/or court to believe or accept the particular events put forth by the specific law representative. In the United States, the Federal Rules of Evidence govern the introduction and acceptance of any and all types of evidence offered in both the civil and criminal proceedings in the American federal court system. The individual states have adopted similar rules of evidence. Yet, state and federal rules of evidence are not always identical in their acceptance of evidence. Generally, the defendant and his or her lawyer cannot apply the Federal Rules of Evidence in instances of a Grand Jury.
