Embezzlement Cases

Embezzlement cases occur when someone that is put in a position of trust with regards to property, money or other items, willing and intentionally misappropriates or secrets away part or all of the materials or cash without the other person's knowledge. Embezzlement is often seen in companies where corporate executives may "skim off the top" or divert some of the income from the company into their own personal accounts. Embezzlement is most often considered to be a white collar crime since individuals that have access to the funds and the property are typically in management positions. In some situations a guardian or a person in charge of a family member's money or possessions may also embezzle or steal funds from those accounts. In many cases embezzlement is not discovered for a long period of time and there may be millions upon millions of dollars that have been secreted away by that time, especially with corporate embezzlement charges.
