The effects of child abuse can be quite serious. Many of them masquerade as typical childhood quirks or behaviors, but it is important to be able to see abuse for what it is. Of course, the reason for this is that it is one or more adults that the child once placed their trust in that ended up abusing them. These children often are aggressive with others, and have a hard time trusting people and making friends. They are anxious, have many behavior problems, and may have eating disorders or malnutrition. The effects of child abuse are not always visible. Sometimes, it takes real people skills to be able to discern whether a child is being abused.
