The term conspiracy is the act of conspiring. This is further defined as an evil or unlawful act in which two or more people create the formulation of something in secret. It is also called a plot. In criminal law, a conspiracy is an agreement between two or more people, in which the agreement includes committing some type of illegal act, which could be a crime, a fraud or another wrongful act. There are many types of conspiracy that may occur, however, each state defines what conspiracy is and how it is punishable under that state's specific laws. A conspiracy usually involves a more significant crime than simply lying or failing to provide information to law enforcement.
