Child Molestation

Child molestation is a criminal offense usually labeled as a felony charge. It is a crime that involves the indecent or sexual activities that occur between a child and an adult. Generally, child molestation is a term used to describe such activities when they occur to a child under the age of 14, but they can occur in children under the age of 18. The acts committed are often known as pedophilia, in psychiatric terms. A child may be touched or otherwise offended. Child molestation includes any act deemed to be lewd and lascivious or with the intent to be such. There is no level of consent allowable, since under the United States laws, no child under the age of 18 can give consent to an adult in this manner.
