These signs include certain behaviors of the child that can definitely be a signal of abuse or neglect in a child. A child who shows nervousness around adults can be a victim of child abuse neglect, as well as a child who is showing aggression towards any adult or other children he or she is around. If a child has problems staying awake or paying attention, has a great interest in sex that seems to be unnatural for a child, has poor grooming, and is seen to have cuts and bruises that the child cannot explain. A child whose personality seems to undergo a change, or whose usual habits are different, also is suspect for child abuse neglect.
