California DUI

DUI, or driving under the influence in California, has laws that may be different from what those in other states are used to. There are two laws that deal with drunk driving. One lets you know it is a misdemeanor for anyone to drive when they are under the influence of either alcohol or drugs. The other says that it is a misdemeanor for a person to drive if here is alcohol in their bloodstream. If there is 0.8% or more of alcohol showing in your blood, a person is not supposed to drive a car, boat, or any other type of motor vehicle. California DUI laws also state that a law officer must have probable cause to stop or detain a person, and to be able to arrest them. A person has to be advised of their rights under the United States constitution. The penalty for a California DUI can be very harsh, and the laws that concern a DUI in the state have become quite complicated, and difficult for most people to understand.
