Bankruptcy Fraud

Bankruptcy fraud is a criminal offense. In this offense, an individual has in some way not provided accurate information, identification information or other facts during the course of bankruptcy. The bankruptcy filer, their attorney or even the creditors who are making claims within the bankruptcy case may commit it. Bankruptcy fraud is the misrepresentation of specific existing facts that in some way allow one person to benefit. The person responsible for the fraud is making statements or committing actions they know are false or based on false facts. Bankruptcy fraud may also include the omission of specific information that is necessary or required, and that without the person is making a false statement. The goal is to benefit in some way from the fraud.
