Rapper DMX Arrested For ID Fraud
Earl Simmons, better known as rap star DMX, has been indicted in the state of Arizona on charges of identity fraud in an attempt to avoid paying medical bills for a hospital visit.
Last April, rapper DMX visited the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his visit, DMX used the name "Troy Jones" to allegedly evade paying any medical bills.
A grand jury has now charged DMX with one count of taking someone else's identity and one count of theft.
This is not first encounter with the law for the 37 year old rapper who was nabbed by police last Saturday at a shopping mall in Phoenix on a warrant. In the same month, he was also arrested at a Phoenix airport for failing to appear in court, failure to pay fines, and driving without a license. Last May, DMX was arrested in Arizona for suspicion of animal cruelty and drug possession after a search of his home allegedly found abused pit bulls, dog carcasses, drugs, and weapons.
