The charge of exhibition of speed is based on a driver’s attempt to race or engage in any type of Speed Contest on a public roadway. This can include racing against another vehicle, even if you don’t exceed the posted speed limit, or racing against a clock to attempt to time acceleration of a vehicle. In some states it can also include placing a barricade or obstacle across a public road or highway to facilitate a race or timed event.

Many times an attorney can meet with the prosecutor and either get the charges dropped or have the charges reduced.
